NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has confirmed that NSW has seen an additional 89 cases of daily detected COVID-19 infections. These figures were made public at a press conference on Tuesday morning where a concerned Premier also confirmed the and further update on the current stay-at-home orders are likely to be advised today or Wednesday.
NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant addressed the overnight figures that totalled a further 89 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours from over 49,000 tests. 21 of these cases were in the community during their infectious period.
Deputy Police Commissioner Gary Worboys, again backed the premiers insistence for residents throughout the Greater Sydney Area to comply with the strict stay-at-home rules in an effort to combat further infections.
The Deputy Commissioner also again warned that police will not tolerate breaches of the lockdown and would now take a far stronger approach to individuals that do not follow directives.
