NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire Rescue NSW launched their Aviation Capability ahead of the 2020-21 Bushfire Season.
Minister for Emergency Services David Elliott was accompanied by RFS Commissioner Rob Rogers and FRNSW Commissioner Paul Baxter.
The launch included a demonstration of the fleet of helicopters along with the Coulson 737 Large Air Tanker and escort plane BidDog.
Following the inspection of the aircraft Firefighters demonstrated winching techniques used to access remote fires.
Also on display was the latest technology available. Two helicopters have video cameras capable of live-streaming footage from fire grounds back to management teams in Headquarters, along with Thermal Imaging used for tracking the fire on the ground through smoke.
The demonstration was condoled by a water drop from the 737 LAT.
